RUIN, a Maple package that studies the Gambler’s Ruin problem. It accompanies Doron Zeilberger’s article Symbol Crunching with the Gambler’s Ruin Problem: The referred work is rather a description of a computer algorithm illustrated by a case study of ruining problem in a 2-players backgammon game. There are no new theoretical results, nor references on other papers (except the Feller textbook of probability mentioned in the text). The paper can be classified as an example of so called “experimental mathematics” where new ideas are derived by means of the development and application of complex computer packages and computer simulation of the given problem.
