ASYS: A package for analysis of systems of nonlinear algebraic equations. The article describes the ASYS software package. The package was written in REDUCE and intended for analysis of systems of polynomial equations by means of techniques based on Groebner bases. The package has special facilities for working with polynomial ideals of positive dimension corresponding to algebraic systems with infinite numbers of solutions. Work with the package is illustrated with a number of examples, in which it is compared to the standard GROEBNER facility of REDUCE, and with the specialized systems FELIX and AlPI.
