Ornament

A DOS-program for drawing and analyzing ornaments.Written by members of the Algebra Institute, Dresden University, GermanyThe Ornament program was originally written for an arts exhibition in 1986. During that event, hundreds, perhaps even thousands of visitors have played with this program. Ten years later it became necessary to write a new implementation, because there is still interest in the program, but the computer model it was originally written for is no longer available. The version you find here is the recent one, written by R diger Krau e. It runs under WINDOWS. It can be used to draw and to analyze planar ornaments, having one of the 17 two-dimensional crystallographic groups as their symmetry type. It is interactive, self-explaining, and easy to handle.
