PkStaMp library for constructing optimal population designs for PK/PD studies We discuss a Matlab-based library for constructing optimal sampling schemes for pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) studies. The software relies on optimal design theory for nonlinear mixed effects models and, in particular, on the first-order optimization algorithm. The library includes a number of popular compartmental PK and combined PK/PD models and can be extended to include more models. An outline of inputs/outputs is provided, some algorithmic details and examples are presented, and future work is discussed.
