CADSOL

Diffusion through the human skin -- an unexpected application of a PDE- black-box solver CADSOL (Cartesian Arbitrary Domain SOLver) is a black-box solver for the solution of arbitrary nonlinear systems of two-dimensional and three- dimensional elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations with arbitrary nonlinear boundary conditions on arbitrary domains with body- oriented grids. We will present an interesting CADSOL application arising in the current research of the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim KG: Diffusion of drugs through the human skin, which has to be regarded in several layers.
